Feverfew

Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) contains a compound known as sesquiterpene lactones, which are believed to have anti-inflammatory properties that are highly effective to relieve headaches and migraines. Feverfew constricts blood vessels that are pressing on nerves and reduces inflammation which vanishes pain. Similar in effects to aspirin, feverfew is for sure a good replacement to over-the-counter drugs, but without any harmful effects.

You will need

  • Feverfew dried or fresh leaves 3-5
  • Water 1 glass

Add feverfew leaves in a glass of water and bring it to a boil. Now steep it for 10 minutes. Strain the liquid into a cup and drink when warm. It may taste bitter and can irritate your mouth but the effects are worth the bitterness. You can also eat fresh feverfew leaves if you don’t like tea.

Feverfew is also available in caplets, in case if you don’t found the leaves. Look for the product that is standardized for 0.2 percent parthenolide. Recommended dosage is 125 milligrams once a day.

Note: Do not use feverfew if you are pregnant as it can cause preterm contractions.

Put Epsom salt in a tub filled with warm water. Mix well to disperse Epsom salt equally in water. Now sit in this water in a comfortable position. Keep there for about 15 minutes.

  • Avoid straining your eyes working on computers or watching TV for longer period
  • Maintain a good posture
