How to get rid of a toothacheToothache can be severe, excruciating, chronic or sporadic. Causes may be many from tooth decay to infections but the question is how to get rid of a toothache naturally. Today in this post we are sharing some most effective tried and tested home remedies to get rid of tooth pain in a drug-free way.

  • Kill ache-causing bacteria with hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide, if used safely, is the best home remedy to subside tooth pain and discomfort caused from an infection in the gum or nerve of a tooth. Floss first, then swish a mouthful of a 3 percent solution of hydrogen peroxide mixed with some water in your mouth for a few seconds. Let it stay in your mouth for about a minute, then spit it out and rinse thoroughly with water. Do this once a day for 3 days.

Some of the precautions you need to follow are:

  1. Do not swallow the peroxide solution, as it can burn your esophagus and cause stomach cramps.
  2. If hydrogen peroxide is used too often it could burn tender gums. Do not use for more than three days and only once a day.
  3. Do mix the peroxide with water otherwise it will harm teeth and gums.
  • Relief the pain with Echinacea and Aloe Vera

Echinacea is an ideal way to battle the ache caused due to an infection and aloe helps by reducing the pain and inflammation. You can use pure Echinacea powder or buy capsules of powdered Echinacea from the store. Open two capsules of the Echinacea and mix the contents with pure aloe gel to form a paste about the consistency of toothpaste. Put a wad of the paste on the gum next to the aching tooth and let it dissolve. Use this poultice whenever you feel the tooth ache.
